All organisms are subject to infection. As such all domestic and exotic species are susceptible to disease caused by bacteria, viruses, parasites and fungi. These diseases may not only cause pain and discomfort for the animal but can result in loss of production and so financial losses. This has driven the pharmaceutical industry in developing new drugs in this area and so now as vets we have a plethora of drugs at hand to combat these infections.
